Bayern Munich to finally sign Luis Diaz from Liverpool.

Former Porto star is set to join the German giants Bayern Munich after an agreement was reached with Liverpool for a deal worth £65.5m. According to BBC Sport.

The Colombian International was left out of Liverpool’s squad for Saturday’s friendly 4-2 defeat by AC Milan. Speculation surrounding his future at Liverpool was not clear. Ultimately, he chose to leave the Merseyside club.

The German side saw their first bid, reaching £58.6m, rejected by Liverpool earlier this window. After the breakthrough, he has been permitted to fly to Europe to complete a medical in the coming days. The 28-year-old winger will now get his wish to play in the Bundesliga with Bayern Munich.

The Bundesliga defending champions were in the market for a wide player since the departure of Leroy Sane. The Bavarians had a concrete interest in Nico Willians from Athletic Club before extending his contract. Gabriel Martinelli was also on their list for potential transfer.

His arrival will be more than welcomed in Munich to cover for Jamal Musiala, who suffered a broken leg in the Club World Cup against PSG.

Dias’ chances at Liverpool could’ve been more difficult after the arrival of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike. Worse news with the rumors of a record deal being prepared for Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak.

Luis Diaz arrived at Anfield from Portugal side, Porto, in a deal worth £37m. He scored 41 goals in 148 appearances, including 13 goals (17 in all competitions) as the Reds won the Premier League title last season.

What can he bring to BAYERN?

His new manager, Vincente Compan, will benefit from the quality he brings to the pitch. Dias’s work rate and defensive attributes are his strong suits. His determination to attack and defend in transition gives his wide defender a much-needed breather.

Bayern Munich will have all three attackers from the English Premier League. In the 2023/24 season, they signed Harry Kane from Tottenham. A season later, they recruited Michael Olise from Crystal Palace and are now getting their hands on one of the best wide attacking players from Liverpool.
