Manchester United have officially secured the signing of Benjamin Sesko from RB Leipzig. The Slovenian striker has just committed his future at United with a five-year contract until 2030.
The 22-year-old striker chose the Red Devils despite a higher fee from Premier League club Newcastle United. Former Leipzig number nine became the number one target for Ruben Amorim after missing out on Viktor Gyokeres, who signed with Arsenal.
His contract with Manchester United is worth £73.6m, while pocketing £160,000 per week in salaries, according to reports.
Newcastle United had a bid turned down by the Slovenian. His priority was to join Manchester United. In his Words, “ The history of Manchester United is obviously very special, but what really excites me is the future .”
The Magpies were in on Sesko as a replacement for Alexander Isak. Newcastle United number nine is on Liverpool’s radar. He only wants to join the Reds with a staggering £120m bid already rejected by his club.
Amorim is strengthening his attacking options after the arrival of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo earlier this transfer window. United will have a whole new front three at the start of the new season.
Manchester United is not done yet. They recently asked about the conditions required to sign Carlos Baleba from Brighton. There is no further report in that front. United is keen on adding quality in the midfield area.

The signing of a new number nine could open doors for Rasmus Hojlund. The Danes have been struggling at Old Trafford. He only scored 4 goals last season while his team finished 15th in the Premier League.
It’s not clear whether he would like to play second fiddle. Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee will probably be looking to find regular game time outside Old Trafford. RB Leipzig is currently considering Hojlund as a replacement for Sesko.
This recruitment is a huge boost for the manager ahead of next season’s campaign. Keep in mind, Amorim has said goodbye to Alejandro Garnacho, who is joining Chelsea. Marcus Rashford left the club on loan to Barcelona. While Jadon Sancho and Anton are still not clear on their future.
