Manchester United won their first 3 points against Burnley. A late penalty kick by Bruno Fernandes ensured the Red Devils avoided another draw after the away game at Craven Cottage.

United took the lead through Josh Cullen’s own goal. Lyle Foster equalized early in the second half before Bryan Mbeumo added a second goal for United. Jaidon Anthony made it 2-2 in 66 minutes.

The drama unfolded as the referee Barrott awarded Manchester United a penalty in added time after a pull on the shirt of Diallo inside the box. Captain Fernandes then slotted in the penalty kick to secure all three points.

The newly promoted Burney showed strong mentality to level the results on two occasions. It was devastating to concede a penalty that late in the game.

The 3-2 score will surely lift some spirits around Old Trafford after a disappointing start to the new season. They lost an opening game to Arsenal and drew with Fulham.

Matheus Cunha was forced out with an injury halfway through the first half. In his place, Joshue Zirkzee was sent on by Ruben Amorin.

Kobbie Mainoo was another player starving for minutes in the Premier League. He finally got the nod for the second half, replacing Mason Mount.

Goalkeeping issues

Amorin called back Bayindir in goal for the league fixture. His competitor, Onana, was in action for the EFL cup against Grimsby. United lost the game by penalty shoot-out and were eliminated from the competition.

Altey  Bayindir failed to gather Loum Tchaouna’s shot, allowing Jaidon Anthony to score an equalizer. There was a similar situation when he conceded a set-piece goal against Arsenal.

Manchester United is reported to be on the lookout for another goalkeeper to provide more competition to Andre Onana and Altey  Bayindir, or even to replace one of them.

Sanne Lammens is the name reportedly a potential recruit for United. A Royal Antwerp goalkeeper is highly rated by Amorin.
