Bayern Munich and Chelsea have found a solution to Nicolas Jackson’s saga. Chelsea was initially set to loan the Senegalese forward to Bayern Munich. The circumstances changed when Liam Delap picked up a hamstring injury in a game against Fulham.
A proposed €15m loan fee for one season, plus a buy option clause (not mandatory) for €80m package and a sell-on clause, was on the table before a sudden change.
A permanent deal is now on a card as Jackson is reluctant to return to Chelsea. The London club immediately blocked the player from having his medical in Munich and instructed him to return.
The Blues are still active on the market to replace injured Delap in case Jackson ends up signing for Bayern Munich. One name on their shopping list is Sportin CP star Conrad Harder. RB Leipzig is considering the Danish player as a replacement for Benjamin Sesko.
Aston Villa had an interest in Nicolas Jackson. But the former Villarreal number nine passed up an opportunity to work with Unai Emery, as he was more focused on the move to Bundesliga giants.
Bayern Munich have been on the market to find a backup option to their main man, Harry Kane. They looked into Nick Woltemade closely, but he alternatively chose Newcastle’s project for a record fee worth £64.9 million.
Christopher Nkunku was another player they considered to fill the gap. The Frenchman decided to go to AC Milan.
A move to Bayern doesn’t guarantee him a starting position. Nicolas is happy to play the second role in Munich after the recruitment of Joao Pedro and Liam Delap by Chelsea. He found himself down to third in perking order at Stanford Bridge.
Vincent Kompany is looking to add some attacking options to his side. The former Manchester City captain will be without Thomas Müller and Kingsley Coman, who left the club during the summer transfer window.
